Job Description

Full-time Underwriting Assistant opportunity w/ Hybrid option (after training) - Immediate opening!

Expanding insurance underwriter is looking to add to their team! This is a fantastic opportunity offering industry-specific training (if needed), hybrid work status, and great benefits package.

HOURS: Full-Time Hours, Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
DURATION: Temp-to-Hire (goal of Full-time hire after approx 3-4 months)
WORKPLACE: Hybrid – 2 days in office, 3 days remote after 2-3 weeks onsite training. Office located near Miramar area.
PAY: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour, depending on experience (upper end requires Insurance experience)
BENEFITS: Company offers a comprehensive benefits package: medical, dental, vision, term life insurance, 401K with match, PTO, paid holidays, hybrid work schedule

Job Duties will include, but are not limited to:

Process files in line with CA underwriting guidelines
Assist Underwriters in review of quotes and policies, obtain and/or complete required documents
Process binds for new policies and renewals
Provide customer service to brokers via email and telephone
Process endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements
Review property inspection reports
Process policy requests from carriers and authorized brokers

Requirements include, but are not limited to:

Previous administrative/office support experience, including processing and/or data entry related duties
Previous insurance experience a plus, or experience in a related industry - i.e. mortgage, real estate, finance
Strong computer skills, including MS Office and Adobe Acrobat, and ability to learn new software
Must be self-starter yet willing to take direction, manage tasks, and meet deadlines with time-sensitive tasks
Professional communication skills (written and verbal) for inner office, phone, and email correspondence
Strong and accurate data entry skills (minimum 40wpm, 5500ksph), including 10-key experience
Must be detail oriented, flexible, and adaptable with a "can do attitude"
High School diploma (or equivalency) required
Must be able to successfully pass Background check and Drug screen requirements
May be required to stand and/or sit in a stationary period for extended periods of time
Verifiable references from recent employment.
