Job Description

Full-time Underwriting Assistant opportunity w/ Hybrid option (after training) - Immediate opening!

Expanding insurance underwriter is looking to add to their team!  This is a fantastic opportunity offering industry-specific training (if needed), hybrid work status, and great benefits package. 
  • HOURS:  Full-Time Hours, Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
  • DURATION:  Temp-to-Hire (goal of Full-time hire after approx 3-4 months)
  • WORKPLACE:  Hybrid – 2 days in office, 3 days remote after 2-3 weeks onsite training.  Office located near Miramar area.
  • PAY:  $25.00 - $27.00 per hour, depending on experience (upper end requires Insurance experience)
  • BENEFITS:  Company offers a comprehensive benefits package: medical, dental, vision, term life insurance, 401K with match, PTO, paid holidays, hybrid work schedule
Job Duties will include, but are not limited to:
  • Process files in line with CA underwriting guidelines 
  • Assist Underwriters in review of quotes and policies, obtain and/or complete required documents
  • Process binds for new policies and renewals
  • Provide customer service to brokers via email and telephone 
  • Process endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements
  • Review property inspection reports
  • Process policy requests from carriers and authorized brokers

Requirements include, but are not limited to:
  • Previous administrative/office support experience, including processing and/or data entry related duties
  • Previous insurance experience a plus, or experience in a related industry - i.e. mortgage, real estate, finance
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office and Adobe Acrobat, and ability to learn new software
  • Must be self-starter yet willing to take direction, manage tasks, and meet deadlines with time-sensitive tasks
  • Professional communication skills (written and verbal) for inner office, phone, and email correspondence
  • Strong and accurate data entry skills (minimum 40wpm, 5500ksph), including 10-key experience
  • Must be detail oriented, flexible, and adaptable with a "can do attitude"
  • High School diploma (or equivalency) required
  • Must be able to successfully pass Background check and Drug screen requirements
  • May be required to stand and/or sit in a stationary period for extended periods of time
  • Verifiable references from recent employment.
