Entry-level Paralegal opening with growing law firm! Requires ABA-approved Certification.
Exciting opportunity with small, specialized law firm in central San Diego, offering Paralegal career-start if you have previous office experience (preferably in legal field) and an ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate.

HOURS: Full-Time, Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm (with early end time on Fridays at 3:00pm).
STATUS: Temp to Hire (goal of Full-time hire after initial temporary period)
WORKPLACE: This is an in-office position in Serra Mesa area. No remote option.
PAY: $50,000 - $65,000 annual, depending on experience.

Job Duties will include, but are not limited to:

Assist in drafting and organizing a wide range of legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Help manage case files, ensuring up-to-date documentation is in order.
Act as primary point of contact for clients, ensuring accurate messaging, informed updates, and ongoing support throughout the process.
Provide varied administrative support to legal team as needed, including data entry, scheduling appointments, client return-calls, and other tasks.
Provide back-up receptionist support as needed.

Requirements include, but are not limited to:

Minimum of 2 years’ office experience, preferably in legal field.
ABA-Approved Paralegal Certificate required.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams. PowerPoint a plus.
Experience related to estate-planning is a plus, but not required.
Attention to detail must be on-point, along with strong organizational and multi-tasking ability.
Must possess effective communication and listening skills, including ability to rephase questions as needed to gain complete understanding of subject matters with accuracy.
Efficient and accurate typing/keyboarding skills; 40wpm a minimum.
Effective written communication skills to compose business correspondence.
Willingness to take direction, maintain ‘can-do’ positive attitude.
May be required to stand and/or sit in a stationary period for extended periods of time.
Verifiable references from recent employment.
High school diploma or equivalent required, at minimum.
Must be able to pass Background check and Drug screen requirements.
Legal residents of California only. Visa Sponsorship not available. W2 only.
