Certified Payroll Specialist with Federal General Contractor in East County - Immediate opening! 

The qualified candidate must have previous Certified Payroll experience, ideally with Federal experience.  Working knowledge of DBRA preferred, as well as construction contracting experience.  General benefits package upon Full-time hire!
 
  • HOURS:  Full-Time Hours, Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:00pm
  • DURATION:  Temp to Hire (intent of Full-time hire after temp/probation)
  • WORKPLACE:  This is an in-office position, not remote, located in El Cajon, CA
  • PAY:  $28.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on experience

Job Duties will include, but are not limited to:
  • Process certified payroll reports and other required labor compliance documents
  • Maintain project specific Davis Bacon prevailing wage rates
  • Collect and review weekly Certified Payroll Reports (CPRs) and supporting payroll records submitted by subcontractors, and verify against compliance requirements
  • Communicate with subcontractors to resolve discrepancies/inadequacies relative to Labor Compliance requirements in a timely and professional manner
  • File management
  • Stay current on all local, federal, and state compliance requirements, CA payroll laws, CA prevailing wage laws, CA Sick Pay laws, etc.

Requirements include, but are not limited to:
  • Certified Payroll experience required; demonstrated knowledge of processing subcontractor certified payroll procedures on Federal projects, including apprentice requirements and documentation
  • 2 years commercial construction experience preferred
  • Knowledge of DBRA (Davis Bacon Relation Act) preferred
  • Proficiency with Office 365, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, strong data entry (minimum 40wpm/6000ksph)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate and work well with in-house team, contractors, and clients in a professional manner
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of DOL Prevailing Wage and Labor Compliance laws
  • Strong knowledge of various trades scope of work and work classifications
  • Must be detail oriented, highly organized, able to manage time effectively to ensure timely distribution of weekly labor compliance reporting
  • Verifiable references from recent employment
  • Must be able to pass Background check and Drug screen requirements.
  • Must possess High School diploma or equivalent
  • Regular and consistent attendance as defined per Company policy
  • Legal residents of California only. Visa Sponsorship not available. W2 only.
