Job Description

Part-time Accountant/Bookkeeper opening with a Financial Services firm located in Mira Mesa/Sorrento Valley area. Strong QuickBooks and Excel required.
 
  • HOURS: Part-Time hours; 10-15 hours a week. Can choose hours between 7am and 6pm, Monday – Friday.
  • DURATION: Direct Hire
  • WORKPLACE: This is an in-office position located in Mira Mesa/Sorrento Valley area.
  • PAY: $25.00/hr. - $30.00/hr., depending on experience.

Job Duties will include, but are not limited to:
The Part-Time Accountant/Bookkeeper will support the financial operations of the firm. This is a critical role requiring precision with numbers, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. Will be responsible for maintaining up-to-date financial records, reconciling accounts, and providing key reports to the firm's leadership.
  • Accurately enter and categorize financial transactions in QuickBooks Online
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements on a regular basis
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records with zero tolerance for errors
  • Prepare and deliver an updated Profit & Loss Statement to the owner weekly
  • Create and maintain Excel-based tracking sheets and financial summaries
  • Use Excel to analyze financial trends, verify account data, and support reconciliation
  • Organize and maintain digital records of receipts and supporting documentation
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with the owner to resolve discrepancies

Requirements include, but are not limited to:
  • Minimum 2 years recent Accounting  / Accountant experience, including stability with recent employers (2-3 years with each employer preferred)
  • A strong command of Excel (advanced level) is essential for this position, as you will frequently use spreadsheets for financial reporting, analysis, and cross-verification. skilled in functions such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data validation, and formula creation
  • Must have intermediate to advanced QuickBooks Online experience
  • Must have intermediate to advanced MS Office skills
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting (P&L, reconciliation)
  • Proven track record of accuracy, timeliness, and reliability
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving ability
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Must be detailed, organized and have strong mathematical skills
  • High school diploma or equivalency of required, at minimum. College degree preferred
  • Must be able to pass Background Check requirements
  • Legal residents of California only. Visa Sponsorship not available. W2 only
