Open Positions
Established Insurance agency with national recognition has new opening with Residential Earthquake E&S team as a Junior Underwriter, requiring 1-2 years Insurance experience (ideally Personal lines), along with active Property & Casualty license.
STATUS: Temp-to-Hire (goal of Full-time hire after 4 month temporary/training period)
WORKPLACE: Remote, with possible Hybrid requirement in future. Office located in downtown SD, with parking provided nearby.
HOURS: Full-time, Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

HIGHLIGHT OF JOB DUTIES:
- Provide operational support to Director of E&S Operations, Underwriting team, and partner departments.
- Serve as the first line of contact in addressing questions and concerns from customers through phone calls and correspondence, resolve complaints in a professional manner.
- Process new business underwriting, endorsements, inspections, and/or renewals as assigned.
- Interpret individual program guidelines regarding acceptability, rating and procedures.
- Request and obtain renewal information as needed, analyze, underwrite, & endorse renewals.
- Send Non-Renewal Notification when applicable.
- Complete cancel/rewrite/effective date changes in accordance with carrier guidelines and company procedures.
- Review and process Broker of Record Letters in a timely manner.
- Successfully pass internal and carrier file audit reviews
- Minimum 1-2 years Insurance experience (preferably Personal lines Homeowner). including customer service support
- California P&C license in good standing
- Previous Surplus lines experience highly preferred
- INS classes are a plus, but not required
- Strong technical proficiencies with MSOffice, including advanced functions in Excel, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat
- Strong data entry/typing skills, including 40wpm and ability to handle high volume with accuracy
- Possess Carrier knowledge – understand and adhere to carrier guidelines including systems and related processes.
- Professional communication skills, both verbal & written, with ability to compose professional correspondence (high volume email)
- Must be detail-oriented, able to meet accuracy and task standards, manage deadlines, and take direction

San Diego based MGU is looking for a Senior Underwriter with Homeowner Property experience to join their growing team, offering REMOTE status if you reside near Phoenix, AZ. Minimum 8 years’ recent Personal Property experience required.
