Temp to Hire (TTH)
Junior Underwriter opening with San Diego based Insurance agency, offering Remote/Hybrid status.

Established Insurance agency with national recognition has new opening with Residential Earthquake E&S team as a Junior Underwriter, requiring 1-2 years Insurance experience (ideally Personal lines), along with active Property & Casualty license. 

STATUS:  Temp-to-Hire (goal of Full-time hire after 4 month temporary/training period)
WORKPLACE:  Remote, with possible Hybrid requirement in future. Office located in downtown SD, with parking provided nearby.
HOURS:  Full-time, Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
PAY:  $25.00-$28.00 per hour, DOE

HIGHLIGHT OF JOB DUTIES: 
 
  • Provide operational support to Director of E&S Operations, Underwriting team, and partner departments.
  • Serve as the first line of contact in addressing questions and concerns from customers through phone calls and correspondence, resolve complaints in a professional manner.
  • Process new business underwriting, endorsements, inspections, and/or renewals as assigned.
  • Interpret individual program guidelines regarding acceptability, rating and procedures.
  • Request and obtain renewal information as needed, analyze, underwrite, & endorse renewals.
  • Send Non-Renewal Notification when applicable.
  • Complete cancel/rewrite/effective date changes in accordance with carrier guidelines and company procedures. 
  • Review and process Broker of Record Letters in a timely manner. 
  • Successfully pass internal and carrier file audit reviews
REQUIREMENTS include, but not limited to: 
  • Minimum 1-2 years Insurance experience (preferably Personal lines Homeowner). including customer service support
  • California P&C license in good standing
  • Previous Surplus lines experience highly preferred
  • INS classes are a plus, but not required
  • Strong technical proficiencies with MSOffice, including advanced functions in Excel, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong data entry/typing skills, including 40wpm and ability to handle high volume with accuracy
  • Possess Carrier knowledge – understand and adhere to carrier guidelines including systems and related processes.
  • Professional communication skills, both verbal & written, with ability to compose professional correspondence (high volume email)
  • Must be detail-oriented, able to meet accuracy and task standards, manage deadlines, and take direction
  • High School diploma (or equivalency) required.
  • Must be able to pass Background Check & Drug screen requirements
  • Verifiable references from recent work history required
  • Ability to sit in stationary position for extended periods of time, as well as proficiency with office equipment and phone systems

Senior Property Underwriter – Immediate opening, Direct-Hire

San Diego based MGU is looking for a Senior Underwriter with Homeowner Property experience to join their growing team, offering REMOTE status if you reside near Phoenix, AZ.  Minimum 8 years’ recent Personal Property experience required.
  • DURATION:  Direct Hire
  • WORKPLACE:  Remote (must reside near Phoenix area)
  • HOURS:  Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM
  • PAY:  $75K - $100K per year, depending on experience

Job Duties will include, but are not limited to:
  • Train and assist Underwriting Teams in review of submissions and coverage nuances
  • Supervise and assist with audits of Underwriters and Underwriting Assistants
  • Review and approve new submissions for acceptability - including more challenging submissions received daily/weekly
  • Review and approve requests for endorsement, cancellations, and reinstatements - including more challenging requests received daily/weekly
  • Oversee and approve physical inspection process, along with management team input
  • Keep accurate documentation of all policies/quotes in purview
  • Effectively communicate company standards, underwriting appetite, guidelines, and requirements to retail brokers as well as Underwriting Teams
  • Process various personal lines property requests from carrier partners and producers
  • Primary Lead for training of Underwriters and Underwriting Assistants
  • Approve exceptions to the Underwriting Guidelines on a case-by-case basis, along with management team input
  • Occasional travel to key producers and/or attend industry events
  • Potential for refining current programs, as well as assist to develop new complimentary property programs in the future
  • Potential to grow into supervisory/managerial role as these areas define
Requirements include, but are not limited to:
  • Minimum of 8 years’ recent experience in Personal Property lines (homeowners), including strong understanding of Underwriting guidelines
  • Ability to answer broker inquiries, explain coverage for various programs and underwriting concepts
  • Strong computer proficiency, including MS Office and Adobe Acrobat, and ability to learn proprietary software effectively
  • Ability to follow rules/protocols within the underwriting realm and in harmony with company standards in general
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, able to complete tasks and documentation accurately and on-time
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to compose professional correspondence
  • Able to effectively instruct and assist other Underwriters and Assistants, work well in a team-environment
  • Ability to show patience within team, with producer clients and vendor partners, and display a "can do attitude"
  • Strong problem-solving skills; pro-active in finding solutions
  • High School diploma (or equivalency) required
  • Must be able to successfully pass Background check and Drug screen requirements

Front Office Assistant for medical office in East County, offering Part-time schedule and personalized service to clients.

Family-oriented medical office seeks a Front-desk Admin with a cheerful and professional demeanor for welcoming new and existing patients, as this doctor and staff are passionate about their practice and offer personalized service to patients of all ages.  Part-time schedule working 4 days (off on Thursday, Saturday & Sunday), approximately 28 hours per week.

SHIFT:  Monday & Wednesday: 8:00am-6:00pm (2 hour lunch)  |  Tuesday: 6:00am-12:00 noon  |  Friday: 8:00am-2:00pm  |  Office closed Thursday and weekends
DURATION:  Temp-to-Hire (temporary for approx 6 months, with goal of hire thereafter)
